Fishing

Andros Island is known as the bonefishing capital of the world. It is surrounded by thousands of square kilometres of fishable flats, home to permit, tarpon, especially bonefish.

This Island called the big yard has been associated with the biggest bonefish and professional guides. Every year, thousands of anglers who seek tranquility, serenity and great fishing, come to hunt the silver fish, and other species to mention permit and tarpon.

Birdwatching in Andros

Andros is a heaven to many birds attracting the amateurs of bird watching.


With its pine forest, mangroves, creeks and blue holes, this Island is  suitable habitat to many type of birds like great Lizard Coucou, Bahama mocking bird, Cave swallow, the Bahamas oriol and more.


Hunting

Andros Island, known by its pine forest is a home to many wild animals and birds, iguanas and land crab.

Though  restrictions has been implemented not to hunt these animals, Wild Boar hunting attracts many amateurs and there is no restriction or season for this amazing sport.   white_crowed pigeon hunting has a season that starts from October and ends  the 1st of March. Even though this sport is not that popular among tourists, we are still recommending at least one day wild boar hunting while visiting Andros, to enjoy the serenity and wilderness of its forest, blue holes .. it is just a getaway from busy life to tranquility and serenity.


Sightseeing

The Island of Andros offers a lot in terms of sightseeing.

The tropical scenery has a visual attraction like no other with a wide variety of attractions and opportunities. Your journey will start from Fresh Creek Andros where the tourism Office is , and where you can be welcomed and given cards and brochures related to Andros. In Fresh Creek also you can visit  Androsia Factory which is located behind the Tourism Office.  Upon arrival you will be given a tour of the factory, and this is a good opportunity to buy  some souvenir: like printed shirts dresses hats… on your way North you will  stop at Captain Bill Blue Hole, a master piece where Nature says it all. further North there is the settlement of Red Bays where the first Indians aboriginal was leaving. Their way of living is highlighted in their craft, their homes and food, this is where you can buy souvenirs like sculpted wood, straw baskets… , further more you will visit Morgan’s bluff, where you can have a panoramic view of the Ocean and while you are there, you can visit Henry’s Morgan Cave,  where this Pirate used to hide his treasure. During your journey and passing through all these settlement, you can stop by some native restaurant and enjoy a Bahamian dish with a cold Bahamian Beer.
